General information

The University of Parma is one of the oldest universities in Europe, founded in Parma on March 13, 962 by Emperor Ottonian. The university, which experienced many unfortunate events before 1854, was closed and reopened many times. During this process, an astronomical observatory, a botanical garden, physics, and chemistry laboratories were added to its structure, and it was opened in a more advanced way during each process of change. He has continued his active educational process since 1854. The university, which currently has about 30,000 students, 1,800 teachers, and 9 main departments, produces about 5,000 alumni annually.

Every year hundreds of international students start their studies at the University of Parma. The University of Parma also has an educational program called "Basic Course", which provides training in the field of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral studies. This program is a language/culture development program requested by students wishing to pursue higher education. Moreover, the University of Parma has a large library, sports centers, congress halls, a language training center, and modern laboratories.

Preparatory Program of Foundation

The preparatory program aims to prepare students to meet the minimum requirements of the Italian higher education system. This program lasts 10 months. This course is intended specifically for those students who have not reached the B2 level in a foreign language, as well as for those who do not have 12 years of education. After completing the preparatory program, students are issued a document confirming their proficiency in English or Italian and with this, they will be able to enroll in a bachelor's degree at an Italian university.

Tuition fee

Tuition fees at the University of Parma are determined according to the family income statement, as in other public schools in Italy. Students whose annual household income is below the established level pay the lowest tuition fees, which range from 156 to 3000 Euros per year.

The University of Parma's preparatory fees is independent of family income. Students who wish to study in the preparatory course pay a tuition fee of 3200-4000 Euros, depending on the chosen program.

Accommodation

The University of Parma does not provide its students with a dormitory. However, the university helps its students find housing. Students can contact the university's admissions center, where they will be offered alternative housing options.
